Although most all of the actual details of Greg’s personal history has been CIA ‘sanitized’ -- From the few presuambly accuate facts I have, Greg was apparently a ward of the court in Washington State. -- His actual name was Gregory Douglas Dawson and became Gregory Douglas Downard, sometime after Sandy Lero’s marraige to ‘Benny’ Downard in December 1965. -- Greg was apparently installed as an imposter and a
‘plant’ of sorts, although he gave me subtle hints occasionally. I go into all this in Part 4 Sub Part 8 of “1979”.
Above is the actual house where I met 'Getty' another FBI 'plant' in early August of 1971. This is located at 15408 E. Hartsville St. La Puente where Jim Sorensen then lived. His parents were out of town and so it was a week or more of partying there.
Greg who turned up at the apartments in Azusa where I lived only days after 'Spud' Helberg's murder mid July, had decided to accept my invitation there and I drove over there in his two tone '56 Chevy coupe, as I had planned to meet a girl I knew there later on that night and it was she had told me to just go over there and party with some of the people there who I already knew from parties past.
The girl I was to meet there was named Claudia and she lived nearby on Millbury Ave. in La Puente only two and a half miles away. -- I had met Claudia only the year before in the Fall of 1970, when I was still a barbiturate addict and before I 'kicked' in L.A. County Jail in March '71.
I became acquainted with Claudia during one of the many of regular party scenes that went on at Covina Drive In back then and saw her from time to time on regular basis since then although she had a boyfriend. We were like friends, or were we ?Betsy one of Claudia's friends introduced me to Jim Sorensen along with others there one being 'Getty', a pseudonym for the actual person's name, who I have decided to keep dark, out of respect for his sibling's and his mother now long since deceased. 'Getty' was some kind of FBI informant, but it was hard to get a 'fix' on him as wouldn't 'rat' on you for drugs and things like that. -- He was kind of an enigma who was installed in my life as some kind of 'plant'.
I was already a but wary of Greg because of the way he came back into into my life only days after the bizarre murder of my friend 'Spud' Helberg only days later and the police cover up's that immediately followed.
Jim Sorensen was a somewhat reserved but friendly guy and the rest of the partiers there were all pretty cool as well, not the drunken, mean ass fighting bastards you sometimes meet at parties.
Most everyone there was about my age and we all seemed to enjoy meeting each other and talking about the events of the day, the military draft, the seemingly endless Vietnam War, sex, drugs, rock music, rock singer Jim Morrison's death only the month before.
I liked the scene as it wasn't busy, with only 15 to 25 or more people there at any one time and we all smoked 'weed', 'hash' and cigatettes, and there was a wide variety of alcohol there as well. -- I sold some doses of mescaline to the partiers there from one of the ounces I had brought
along with me. Some of these I had already cut and measured visually and then I wrapped them in little pieces of tin foil. The partiers there were rather mellow and polite, and when a bunch of us got good and 'high' on mescaline I then proceeded to conduct some of the things I learned in the psychology class I had only just finished only the week before at Citrus College in late July '71. These were along the lines of verbal and touch like proceedures where the group would focus on one person at a time and sometimes involved picking the person up whilst their eyes were closed and things like that, and asking a series of questions about one's feeling as well.

The green asterisk is the location Lt. Mealy's Criminal Law Class in the Fall of 1971 and the magenta asterick marks the approximate location of Sgt. Ostman's Introduction to Public Service Class in the Spring of 1971, held from January to May 25th to be exact.
Detective Lt. Mealy who in the Fall of 1971 was my second Police Science Class instructor, who like Detective Sgt. Ostman my first during the Spring 1971 semester at Citrus College in Glendora, was also stationed thereat the L.A. Sheriffs Sub Station in San Dimas.
Detective Lt. Mealy eventually became one of the three supervisors at Biscailuz Center sometime prior to 1981 and may well have started there sometime in the mid 1970's. -- In Part 3 Sub Part 2 of "1979" / 1979westbrook.com I describe my brief stay there in March and April of 1971.
